I am officially withdrawing my name from the November 3rd, 2009 ballot for the 4th Ward Bellefontaine City Council Race. The Board of Elections will receive my official request to be withdrawn today. This decision did not come easily, but my family must come before all other things.

After 8 months of being on a waiting list to be evaluated, on August 19th, 2009, our 2 year old son Aiden was diagnosed with Autism. As a result of this diagnosis, the next two months will be critical in getting the right people lined up to work with him, as well as myself and my wife. Furthermore, the next two to three years will be very important in getting our son on track for what hopefully will be an on-time start to kindergarten.

Due to the amount of time and hard work that this will take, on top of my other obligations to my family and professional life, I’ve made the decision to withdraw from the election this year.

I appreciate the support I’ve received this year in my bid for City Council. It’s been refreshing to see how many people really are passionate about the City of Bellefontaine, and want to see it continue to grow and prosper.

While local politics is a passion, and I’m sure I’ll stay in tune with what’s going on, I need to take the time to focus on another passion: My Family.

Thank you for your support.
